I love it when someone tells me they saw a photo online and knew that it was mine right away! It actually took years for me to create my own unique workflow in Lightroom and Photoshop. Finding your look helps your clients know what to expect and really defines your style.

Creating your own actions in Photoshop or purchasing a set online can keep your editing consistent, which will make your final galleries look like one story that fits together. Most of the time I edit by hand; meaning I use the Photoshop tools directly without actions. It's more time consuming to do it that way, but now that I've mastered Photoshop I love the control that I have on my own. That being said, I'm never opposed to trying out one of my handy actions to get me through some heavy editing.

The key to using actions successfully is to know how to adjust them so that your photos don't end up looking over-processed.
